Hello, My Friends,
It's early and I'm so excited. Tonight's Vendor Night at the Art & Soul Retreat in Hampton, VA. I've never done a straight antique booth at an event like this before. Taking Dime Store Chic on the road is making me nervous. That's why I'm up so early (6 a.m.).
Wish me and Suzy (aka GeorgiaPeachez) luck!
Thank you all so very much for your love and support through this diffucult time. My grief is lightened just in the knowing that there is so much love out there, and that my family and I are in your thoughts and prayers.~~~The ebay auction I am hosting in memory of my brother with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the ASPCA is doing well! There is still time to bid as the auctions end this Thursday.~~~XXOO, Beth
I found that staying busy and moving forward one step at a time is the best way to live through my grief. That in mind, I am getting ready to attend vendor night at Art & Soul in Hampton, VA this Saturday evening. Suzy and I have been planning this since last May. Our friends Sue and her sister Michelle are our inspiration and have offered their wise and gentle guidance. Suzy and I needed to seriously de-stash and that was what began our wanting (needing!) to sell at Art & Soul.
Here is part of the mountain of goodies I will be bringing to Hampton:
In addition to cardboard boxes with goods, I have a couple of plastic bins. Here is a peek at what is inside one of them:
And I have a couple of wire baskets. Here is one stuffed full:
And I have various suitcases to display goods and to sell for fun storage:
I will be putting my etsy shops, Beth's Bagz and Dime Store Chic, on vacation beginning Wednesday, April 27th. If you "favorite" something currently in Beth's Bagz or Dime Store Chic, you may want to make a purchase as the goods currently listed may not return after vacation mode!~~~I will be listing more NEW goods in both shops beginning next week (May 1st), so stay posted!~~~Thanks again, my friends!~~~XXOO, Beth
It has been a very rough past 5 days. My dear brother, David, passed away. He was my youngest brother by four years. He died suddenly of a heart attack at the young age of 46.
David loved his cars, especially his award-winning 1971 Corvette, and his German Shepherds. Here is a photo of David and our son with David's first puppy, Zora, taken in 1996.
David was preceeded in death by our brother, Johnny, who died tragically in 1994. I find it difficult to accept the fact that I have lost both of my siblings. My parents are holding up as well as can be expected. They are the strongest people I know.
In memory of David, I am hosting several ebay listings of vintage items I collected from his estate. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). I invite you to visit my Bethsbagz ebay listing page.
I've been out in the garden putting in a new terraced bed which now holds two blueberry bushes and a lot of mulch! I then planted a row of beets, celery, and three tomatoes. I am praying that we don't get a cold snap, but I am prepared with clear plastic just in case. I am really praying that spring is here to stay.
I will photograph the garden but until then I thought I would show you the truth about a cat and a dog--at least the truth as it is in our house...
When our kitty, Gyro, decides to sleep in our dog, Sheila's bed, he does so at his own peril. Sheila stared and stared at him for a few minutes, and then decided that there was room on the bed for the two of them. This scene lasted about five minutes. Sheila won and Gyro found another place to take a nap.
The truth about a dog and a cat. Have a great day!~~~XXOO, Beth
