My son said I was going to the "most boring store ever." I calmly explained to him, "it's a girl thing." He was satisfied with my answer and happy to be staying home with his friend.
My neighbor, Ann, her daughter Maggie, and I went about an hour north to Hagerstown, Maryland to the Offray Ribbon Factory Outlet Store. Now this out-of-the-way store on the end of one very long ribbon factory is the BEST place to buy ribbon. Most of what I bought was 10 cents a yard or less. I bought hundreds of yards and doubt I will ever use it all.
Here is the entrance, tucked away on Willow Circle. You'll need to Mapquest the directions.
Maggie and Ann dig through the "stuff a bag for $1.09" bin. You get a quart size Ziplock bag and can stuff it full for, you guessed it, $1.09. I know I did!
This is the majority of the store. Lots of ribbon at practically give away prices!
More ribbon...
My favorite...grosgrain ribbon!...
Aren't these curly ribbons so colorful and sweet? Like bowls of candy pasta!
And in case you were curious, here is a sampling of what I purchased at the wonderful Offray Ribbon Outlet!
I'll never use all of this, but I'll have fun trying!~~~XXOO, Beth
