1) Leave a comment on THIS post telling me which item(s) you want to purchase. First come, first served applies. I will contact you with a total including actual postage cost. I will do my very best to give you the cheapest postage rate and, of course, will combine shipping for multiple purchases. The prices of postage beside each item is an estimate and the final price will be determined by your location (but the estimate is pretty close!). I DO accept international friends at my Yard Sale, but please allow me to send you the International postage rate.

2) Payment by Paypal only. I will give you my Paypal ID after you leave your comment stating the item(s) you wish to buy. Please submit your Paypal payment after you hear from me, within 24 hours of my email.~~I know not everyone uses Paypal, and if you REALLY want something and can only pay by check, I ask you to be fair have your check to me within 5 days.

A cute vintage 1970's address book! How cute is this? It's tall and skinny (12 X 3-1/2 inches). There are a few address written inside but the book is 98% unused--perfect for fun altered art projects too!

Vintage baking FUN! This Wilton Cake and Food Decorating book is from 1970. It has 192 full color pages with delightful cake decorating ideas as well as those fun, kitschy decor items!

Vintage metal trays with proud peacocks! Each tray measures 5 X 7 inches.They can be used in so many fun ways! SOLD!! The price for the set of four is $3.00 plus $3.00 First Class Mail postage.

 

Charming couple plastic cake topper from 1978 (Wilton). Wouldn't this be so fun on an anniversary or wedding cake? It measures 6 inches tall. SOLD!! The price is $3.00 plus $3.00 First Class Mail postage.

 

A half dozen vintage wooden painted egg ornaments from East Germany so you know they are pre 1990.) Each sweet hand-painted egg measures 1-1/2 inches tall. So cute! SOLD!! The price for the eggs is $3.00 plus $2.00 First Class Mail postage.

 

A love-worn Enid Collins box purse! Spring Chickens adorn this wonderful box purse designed by Enid Collins. Although the handles are gone and there are some smudges (I haven't cleaned it) and a few missing bits (the rhinestone chicken eye in front, and the gold tone flower ring on top), this lovely purse can either be restored or used as an attractive storage box.

 

 

 

There is a mirror inside the lid too! SOLD!! The price for this wonderful box/purse is $10. Please allow me to give you a shipping quote on this item. My best guess is about $6.00-$9.00 depending on how far in the USA you live from the Washington, DC area.

 

Ooh la la! A fun vintage Mille Bornes card game! You can either play the game (it's complete) or use the wonderful graphics on the cards for your crafting. There are 112 different cards (in French and English) here. Lots of possibilities SOLD!!! The price for Mille Bornes is $3.00 plus $5 Priority Mail postage.

 

A set of wonderful vintage game boards! Three in all and reversible with checkers, Parcheesi, and a horse race game on the backs. The boards fold and are make from cardboard about the thickness of a shirt box.

"Just Me" is a wonderful vintage UNUSED baby record book! It comes in a gift box. The satin like cover has a few faded spots near the top, but the box is in overall wonderful condition! When I returned home from a weekend away, a box was waiting for me from Elizabeth at Creative Breathing. This talented gal was inspired by my pin cushions, and used some of her own bits and bobs to make this wonderful piece!~~~

Studio Snippets

Happy Tuesday, My Friends!~~~

I have some new storage additions to my studio. I thought you might like to see them.~~~

You may have seen this fab orange vintage spice jar rack from a previous post. What I want to show you today is this pair of WONDERFUL elf cookie jars! The delightful Susan found these at a yard sale and thought of me! We made a trade and I am so happy to add these jars to my studio! They store ribbon rolls. Thanks SO much, Susan!

On the wall beside the spice shelf is this beautiful handmade doll. I bought it from a talented local lady who re-purposes vintage fabrics (and you KNOW I like that!) into these wonderful hand-painted dolls! Above the sweet doll is a metal shelf I picked up at a thrift shop and painted it pink. I thought the pink looked good with the green wall. A pair of my favorite planters hold vintage beaded strands which I may use one day.

I love (as I know you do too!) vintage jars and planters for storing craft goodies! The bird planter holds more beaded strands. I recently found this glass jar with a lid thanks to Sue who tipped me off to a FAB local yard sale. The jar was a steal at $5! At the same yard sale I got this vintage cherries candy box for 25 cents! The little glass salt shakers were a quarter each too! Would you like to see what I store in the five-dollar jar?

Lots and lots of plastic birthday cake candle holders!

In a previous post I showed you my collection of sewing baskets which store a wonderful assortment of crafting goodies. I bought two more at the yard sale Sue told me about--It WAS a wonderful sale! Hubby added this fun scrolly metal bathroom shelf above the sewing baskets for more ribbon storage! Love it!

Again, in a previous post I showed you my fun cigar box storage. The top shelf holds buttons. The bottom shelf holds more recent cigar boxes. I have so many misc. bits n' pieces that cigar box storage is a MUST!~~~So, there you have it. This is just one side of my studio which is a nice cozy room in the basement with a little ground floor window. Heaven and pure bliss!~~~XXOO, Beth

Support Your Local Farmers' Markets: Here's Why...

Yesterday morning I visited the opening of the Annandale, VA farmer's market. Although it is still early in the season, there are wonderful things to be had! Here are a few reasons why you should seek out your local farmer's market.

1. Farmers' markets provide local, fresh-picked produce which is higher in nutrients than produce which was picked from far-away and trucked to your local supermarket. Did you know the average distance your grocers produce travels is 900 miles? Yikes!

Reason #2: Color! look at the color your farmer's market offers! Talk about eye candy!...

Hydroponic tomatoes picked very early that morning. And...

...Dahlias!...And...

...Apples. These were picked from the farmer's orchard in the fall and stored all winter. Still delicious!

Reason Number 3: You get to met the people who grow the food and plants. Chat them up!

Smita proudly serves tasty samples of her Crackpot Gourmet jams. I bought her roasted strawberry and Indian pepper jam---Heavenly!

And Mr. Settle from Culpepper, VA, told me all about these adorble teeny tiny tomato plants: Tiny Tim and Micro Tom. Tiny only grows to 1-1/2 feet tall and Micro only grows 6 inches tall! They put out loads of the itty bitty tomatoes. I bought one plant but he insisted I take another one for FREE! Did I say how much I love the farmer's market?

Reason number 4: Variety. You get to see vegetables you might not see at your regular grocers...

I snatched up a bunch of these wonderful white turnips. Yum!

And reason number 5: More variety. These eggs are so tempting, but I bought fresh baked bread from this vendor.

So, there you have it. Five good reasons to seek out your local farmer's market this spring!~~Now, where are thise estate and yard sales????~~~XXOO, Beth
