I have a guilty pleasure, and he's on my i-pod. Here he is...

Recognize the blow dried wolf man hair and beard, and over-the-top disco bling? Need another hint? He's best known for singing with these dudes who also happen to be his brothers...

YES! I like the Bee Gees! I have since 1977 when I was in high school. Yes, I like them. They are all over my i-pod! I had posters of these guys all over my dorm room walls in 1978-79. Yes, I confess...I like the Bee Gees! And speaking of the Bee Gees...

And then I caught my breath, grabbed my i-pod, and did my "Stayin' Alive" strut through my neighborhood!~~~Just don't judge me 'cause I confess to still liking the Bee Gees after all these years. Even My Mother Doesn't Know This!

Happy Monday, My Friends!~~~

My friend Julie sent me this and I was blown away! It's a simple case of "I did not know THAT!" And does my Mom know this?  NO! And she is a domestic goddess having been married for over 50 years! What is this big secret? Here it is...

What the heck is this, you ask? Well...did you know that on the ends of aluminum foil and plastic wrap boxes there are these tabs. You press the tabs inward which lock the roll inside the box. Did you know that? I didn't, and I have ruined countless yards of foil and plastic wrap when the whole roll bursts out of the box when I give them a tug. This little tab trick would have saved me lots of wasted foil and plastic wrap...hmmmm...wait a minute...maybe that is the plan of the companies who make these products. Do you think that is the reason for them keeping these handy-dandy tabs a secret?~~~Well, no matter. The secret is out, thanks to Julie who gave me a great topic for a rainy Monday!~~~XXOO, Beth

DC Miscellany and Weekend LOOT!

Happy Weekend, My Friends!~~~

Last night Hubby, son, and I went to dinner and to see the fabulous stand-up comic Brian Regan at the Warner Theatre. We dined at the closest restaurant to the White House, Old Ebbitt Grill. If you are ever in DC, you must go there!

Here is Hubby and Son after dinner was served...

Hubby looks ready to dive into his seafood jambalaya and son is already tucking into his salmon while still holding his I-Touch. Here is my dinner...

Halibut...yum yum! I ate every bit of it!

After laughing ourselves silly at Brian Regan (his comedy is PG rated, take your kids!), we took a walk over to this place...

Tourists were still out at 9:30 at night with the police yelling at them to "stay off the fence!" I was more impressed with the way the streetlight shone on the huge ginkgo tree growing on the White House grounds and arching over the sidewalk...

I turned around and snapped a picture of this distant view from the White House...

 

The tall structure is, obviously, the Washington Monument, and the small domed structure to the right is the Jefferson Memorial. Both Presidents were born in my home state of Virginia (insert proud sigh here) ;)

Saturday morning was cloudy and warm and Hubby and I went to the Arlington Flea Market, and then I hit an estate and a few yards sales in my neighborhood. Here is my loot for the day!~~~

I'm giving the lovely tin to my BFF, Suzy, as well as the shells for her collection.
