Hello, My Friends!~~~
A recent warm spell sent us outside in the sunshine without coats to take a look at our yard.
The soft, muddy ground prompted me to ditch my winter walking shoes and don my Wellies.
After picking up a lot of sticks, yanking invasive ivy, and a go over with the lawn mower, we have a new garden bed in our little urban farm.
OK, it doesn't look like much, and in the summer it'll be mostly in shade, but after Hubby fixes the rotor tiller, we'll have a fresh garden. I'm thinking that we can grown berry bushes that usually grow in shady areas of forests. Hubby suggested Huckleberries. We're going to research to see what will do best here.
I pulled this from the now clean garden bed...
I had rescued this wheelbarrow from the neighbor's trash years ago. I'm going to move it to a sunnyb place and plant herbs in it. See? There's a hole in the metal already!
As you can see from the sundial, it was 1 p.m. when we were enjoying the 55 degrees and sunshine.
Sheila, our Australian Cattle Dog, is focused on something. What is it?
A broken Frisbee? She'll chase anything!
And speaking of ivy...
This ivy will be gone, much to the deer's relief, and a new raised garden bed will be a part of our urban farm.
Soon, spring will be here, but until then this Bluebird will brighten our winter yard. As will these...
Vintage concrete Flamingos, and...
These cool bowling balls, deck furniture, and gnome await a new location in the spring flowers. What do you think about spring coming, Sheila????
I think she's happy to be outside no matter what the season. Actually, me too, as long as it's not too cold, too hot, it has to be just right. Call Me Goldilocks!~~~XXOO, Beth
