Hello, My Friends!~~~
Yesterday, Hubby and I went to the Falls Church (VA) farmer's market. It is open all year and we had never been in the winter before. I was so happy to see all of the vendors, not as many as in spring and summer, but still quite a lot. The weather was sunny and calm and about 35 degrees when we got there.
(I don't know who the lady is in the center of the photo, but she sure looks intent on buying one of those cabbages.)
Our first stop was the "pickle lady."
We got a small container of half-sours for $6.
Then to the cheese guy...
We got smoked Gouda, and two kinds of mozzarella (I used the smoked mozz in lasagna last night). Hubby also picked up buffalo jerky for himself and our boy at Cibola Farms.
The pickings of produce were slim and mostly greens. I thought this celery looked pretty in the sunshine.
We also got some bread, dried apples, and a winter savory plant. That was all for the day. On the way out we passed this lovely historic home in Falls Church, called Cherry Hill...
Look at that Robin's egg blue sky!~~I look forward to going back to the market because our bread is nearly gone! Our son devours it! If you have a winter farmer's market in your neighborhood, please visit it--you'll have so much fun!~~~XXOO, Beth
