In My Previous Life...

...I used to collect postcards.

Hello, My Friends!~~~

Back between 1987 and 1993 before Hubby and me had our son, I used to collect postcards. I collected specific types of postcards: gas stations, motels, hotels, diners, cafes, and other restaurants. I also collected a few other types of postcards too. My collection grew and grew until I had seven large photo boxes full. Recently I decided it was time to let this collection go.

I condensed the boxes to four by tightening up the collection. I sorted through the boxes and pulled out a few cards.

And found some that I really like even after I stopped collecting in 1993...

This Richmond Belle diner postcard was a favorite, but it is time to say farewell. I started listing some of my postcards on Ebay the other day. I had toyed with the idea of contacting a local postcard collecting club and selling the whole collection to them, but I later thought I could sell my collection individually and in lots. It'll take a long time! As I sort through the postcards it is nice to look at these little pieces of history and then set them free.

Well, after an exhausting week being in charge of the white elephant room at the church fall festival, I was so thrilled to be back in the studio and in my own decision making! Here's what I came up with...maybe I need more rest...hmmmm....

The Fox

Hello, My Friends!~~~

I am going to be off line for the week as I have been tagged for volunteer work at the church to be in charge of the White Elephant room for the rummage sale this coming Saturday. I know, I know, it's like the fox guarding the hen house. I have volunteered and worked for this sale about 8 years and the lady who is normally in charge can't do it this year. The head of the church fall festival asked me Saturday if I could do it. What could I say? It's a lot of work and requires working Tuesday through Friday evenings, and Saturday all day during the sale. I am happy to take charge for one year. I am much better worker bee than a queen bee. I'll delegate but with a cotton candy fist not an iron fist. After all it's really just a huge yard sale!

I do exercise restraint and usually only buy one tote's worth of goodies. Promise! See you all after!~~~XXOO, Beth

Summer's Last Sweet Beath

Here in the USA some if us spend today, Labor Day, bidding a fond farewell to summer with cookouts and time at the neighborhood pools!

A Too Cute Saturday Find!

I went to a flea market today and found this stinking cute planter!

I think it's a cat, but it doesn't matter. I love it and it now sits in my studio holding paint brushes! And speaking of cute kitties...
