Sealing the End of 2010 With A Kiss

Time to say good-bye to 2010 with a kiss!

To celebrate the end of a fabulous year where I turned 50, I went on the world's longest yard sale with Suzy, my son earned his Eagle Scout rank, and me and hubby celebrated 24 years of happy marriage, I made 13 new pin cushions with several holding dear the theme of "love".

Hello, My Friends!~~~

I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and that Santa was very good to you! Santawas especially good to me, although I have no idea what I did to deserve it!

Please allow me to show you some of the treasures I recieved this holiday...

My parents and hubby gifted me with The Beatles White Album on CD, John Lennon's greatest on CD, and the DVD of Ed Sullivan's shows featuring...you guessed it...the Beatles! I saw these shows when I was 3 and 4 and rumor has it that I just screamed at the TV set and ran away. I used more control when I watched this DVD.

My BFF Suzy gifted me, amoung other wonderful treasures, this whimsical and way too cute Australian Cattle Dog pin! She sent in a photo of our Cattle Dog, Sheila, and the likeness is so spot on!

And speaking of our Sheila dog, our neighbor Jon's wonderfully talented mom, Sandy, painted this portrait of our dog! Sandy has a fabulous pet and people portrait business and wanted to paint our silly looking doggie! Please stop by Sandy's site. I am in awe!

I just have to tell you about the wonderful trade I made with Chrystal! She really like a snowman pin cushion I had made and she traded me these delightful animals for it! I am such a lucky girl! I adore the owl and octopus and, will give the owl to my mother who loves owls far more than I do! THANK YOU, Crystal, for the best trade ever!

My parents gave me these two great books! I love Nancy comics and Nancy has them all! Eating Local is the most lovely cookbook I have ever seen! Can't wait to make lots of recipes from it!

And last but certainly NOT least...

Hubby suprised me with an ipad! I love it!!!! I downloaded some books, the game Angry Bords (addictive!), and more! I made a bag to carry it everywhere and am thinking of making ipad bags for my etsy shop. Maybe in the new year!~~~Thanks so much for stopping by! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!~~~XXOO, Beth

Use the wreath as a centerpiece of course! My BFF Suzy made this wreath years ago and I just LOVE it! But this wreath, as fabulous as it is, looks naked compared to the wreaths she makes these days. She has honed her wreath making skills to the most sparkly wonderful vintage delights! Check out her new wreath blog for updates on when she'll list her latest wreath creations! There must have been quite a lot of folks feeling spring here in the frosty days of December as I have nearly sold out of my springtime creations! THANK YOU!~~I will spend more time in the studio with springtime thoughts and inspiration. More goodies on the way soon!

But back to the 12 Days of Decorating Our Holiday Home!

These have to be the oddest ornaments on our tree! I found them recently at a thrift shop. They are wool felted balls with beads sewn to them. Hubby and son really like them, and they both think that these decorations look like viruses! That may be because Hubby is a microbiologist! So, I guess that in our holiday home home nothing says "Happy Holidays" like virus ornaments on the tree! Go figure!~~~XXOO, Beth

Hello, My Friends!~~~

Welcome to Day 5 of the 12 Days of decorating our holiday home!

"You'll shoot your eye out!" OR "Daddy's gonna kill Ralphie!" You know what I mean! These are my favorite quotes from my favorite (and yours, I bet) holiday film "A Christmas Story" based on Jean Shepherd's book of stories "In God We Trust, All Other's Pay Cash".

This display proudly shows our leg lamp "It's a major award!" AND Ralphie Parker's house in Cleveland. And vintage plastic Santas (one wears skis and the other wears snowshoes), snowmen, and a whole host of spun cotton and pinecone Santas and snowmen! Nothing says Christmas like a leg lamp, at least in our holiday home!
