Hello, My Friends!~~~
Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Days of Our Holiday Decorating!
Today I would like to show you our holiday books...
The top book was owned by my great-grandmother, Virginia Tunstal Alexander (how's that for an old Southern name?). This edition of "The Night Before Christmas" is from 1883, and no doubt was bought when she was a new, very young bride. My grandmother is the youngest of her 13 children and had this book in her attic after she died in 1997.
The three books below great-grandmother's book, are by Susan Waggoner, and have the most fabulous illustrations of vintage Christmas! You can find her books here. The bottom book is by Bruce Littlefield and has tons of photos of FUN lighted holiday homes! My hometown of Richmond, VA is featured with it's annual "Tacky Lights Tour." You can find Bruce's fabulous book here.
So there you have it! Our holiday books! Loads of fun and we only bring them out in December so it's like having new books every year!~~~XXOO, Beth
