Hello, My Friends!~~

OK, so if Hurricane Irene wasn't enough of a rain event, now we are getting the rain from Tropical Storm Lee---Really? I was down in my basement studio, minding my own business, sewing totes, when I heard this rushing sound. I glanced out of the small window in the basement and saw a wall of rain. I went upstairs to see what was going on out front.

Here is the scene out our front window...

Our trash can looks so forlorn on a little island between sidewalk and street both of which have been turned into rivers.

Sad little gray thing.

And here are the two new recycling bins the county dropped off for us and our neighbor washed down the street and wedged under our neighbor's back bumper. The recycling bins are creating a pond into the street with the rushing water.

And in our backyard, the slope which we recently covered with paving stones, now looks more like a log flume ride. Notice the four concrete piggies off to the side observing the deluge.

We haven't seen the sun in a few days. I now know how our friends in the Northwestern states feel!~~~Back to sewing!~~~XXOO, Beth
