This morning I headed to a yard sale advertised on Craigslist. I couldn't resist the charming ad which I later found had been written by the homeowner's grandson. The ad mentioned "a sweet elderly couple" selling "yard ornaments and more." The ad did not lie. I met the cutest, nicest elderly couple and yes, they had some concrete yard ornaments for sale.

I bought a deer...

So sweet! And I bought a quartet of oinkers...

I love their crazy eyes and bright red nostrils and ears!

The lady said I could re-paint them, but perish the thought! They are fine just as they are! The deer and pigs join the other members of our vintage concrete ornament family. Please meet them...

And here is another new addition to our garden. Something I have always wanted. This treasure was a recent thrift store find, new in the box for  only$30...

An 8 foot wind vane! Hubby assenbled it and set it up after Hurricane Irene. I love it!
