Hello, My Friends!~~~
Heartbreak, oh, heartbreak! OK, too dramatic, but at the time...well the drama in my mind was so real. I'm better now, but you may want to know what happened to me on an estate sale adventure today. Let's start at the beginning...
This morning I headed out to an estate sale about 20 minutes for my house. The ad looked promising for me to find a vintage treasure or two, but what I am intensely looking for, for crafting purposes, is to refill my stash of vintage Christmas goods for the craft shows at year's end. The ad for this sale did not advertise any Christmas decorations at all nor were there any photos of holiday cheer in the 145 photos posted in the on-line ad. BUT...this is what I found...
Looks like wonderful vintage Christmas to me!
I also found...
There was a nice large amount of vintage Christmas goodies, oh yes...

So, where's the heartbreaking drama I promised at the beginning of this post? It began before I even stepped into the sale.
I arrived one hour after it opened but still had to wait in line of only three people in front, so the total people in line was 5. The lady let us in one at a time after someone had left. But watching the people leave was torture! I saw fabulous vintage Christmas waltzing right by me, wonderful things that I itched to use in a future project! Alas, they were for the lucky ones who snagged them first. Of course if my Spidey-sense had been working I might have arrived at the sale much earlier. But, as I mentioned before, the ad just didn't look promising.
Anyway, I got in and I found that there were 2 rooms with vintage Christmas! I snagged the wonderful dimestore goodies in these photos along with some cool mid-century stars.
While in the checkout two ladies ahead of me has scored armloads of vintage Christmas also. I just couldn't look, way too painful. But I was thrilled with what I had found.
It is hard to tell which sale to hit early and which to take the time to be in the first wave to get in, especially when the sale doesn't mention that among the things in the house is two rooms full of what you are interested in! Well, I snoozed on this sale by coming late but didn't lose, but it was heartbreaking seeing the things that "got away." I just wished I had not seen them. Perhaps you understand what I'm saying if you had seen the one(s) that got away.
But all in all my luck was great today as I found some wonderful vintage holiday delights!~~~XXOO, Beth
